What the hell is going on here? Gaga singing about being Jesus’ love slave? Is it suppose to be about all the times she got nailed but a guy claiming to be in Judas Priest? I just don’t get it. In fact, after the scene of her singing on the bike (green screen) I thought this entire thing was a bad SNL joke. How is this real but Rebecca Black’s “Friday” is a joke? I seriously don’t get it. Pop music, you won this round.

I’m going to go corrupt my mother and ask her for her opinion on this video. (psttt she loves gaga but hates jesus)

What’s the deal with ultra orthodox jews and their bad sense of fashion. Black and white. Black and white. Two types of hats. All women wear the same wig. It’s a society of depression and conformism. So it breaks me to pieces to learn that the Williamsburg hipsters are not influencing the ulta orthodox jews in their neighborhood, but in fact, are being influenced.

NY Times came out with an article stating how local hipsters are taking to the black hat society of the world. Possibly forming their own break off black hat dive bars with separate seating. If they only knew how oppressive the black hat community is and what a black hat symbolizes. But damn, Brooklyn hipsters can be so fucking stupid.

I can’t wait for the Williamsburg hipsters to discover the streimel.

Lady Gaga done goofed

Lady GaGa is quite mainstream and I’m sure everyone knows who I’m talking about. But if you’re unfamiliar with this pop-culture phenomenon, I’ll bring you up to speed: she’s that chick who rehashes Madonna songs and follows the Bjork school of fashion. In other words, she’s sooo quirky and original despite being 2011′s definition of Top 40. Is she truly a talented musician, or just another shallow pop star who will make a few hit songs and then be replaced for a younger model circa 2016? Is her live show and her fashion-statement-stuffed wardrobe performance art and deep-cutting social satire, or a gimmick for more album and ticket sales? Is she truly fighting for LGBT rights and equality, or has she identified a profitable target audience and is now marking her territory like an alpha dog with a leaky bladder?

Whichever side of the fence you might fall on, almost everyone knows that when you get big, having a “Weird” Al Yankovic parody can’t bee too far down the road. I’m sure a few people were thinking, “Geez Al, what took you so long?” I couldn’t wait to see what kind of shit Weird Al would cook up for a GaGa music video parody. Guarateed to be fucking ridiculous from start to finish.

Well, apparently he took so long because he was busy getting owned by GaGa. Despite the fact that she had to have known this was coming, despite the fact that Weird Al always asks permission before doing parodies, and despite the fact that proceeds would go to the Human Rights Campaign, which works for the LGBT community. You know, the same community GaGa is so intent on helping. Oooops.

Isn’t this something GaGa would support? All she has to do to help the gay community in this particular instance is to say “yes” to being parodied. At this point, Weird Al’s been around for almost thirty years cranking out satirical songs. Being made fun of by this guy is a sign that you’ve made it as an entertainment icon. Is artistic integrity worth fucking up your own charitable enterprises? It’s not like the song is offensive to gays in any way. This is more of a head-scratching development than anything else. Either she values her three-minute throwaway pop song more than the cause it supposedly espouses, or she actually doesn’t care much for the LGBT community in the first place… except maybe to give her an additional “freedom fighter” image that other pop stars lack. Pretty cynical, GaGa.

At this point, if I was gay, I’d tell her to come back when she actually cares about me.

Old Jews Go Gaga

Whats the deal with old jews loving Lady Gaga? My mother… Larry King… That rabbi… It’s kind of sick. I’m grossed out. I know all we do it blog about old jewish ppl, but this draws the line. I feel like Im a smut peddler with all the bad videos we’ve been showing recently. I swear after the holidays we won’t have two of these videos in the same day.

Back in the day I knew it was Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year, n00b) because honey sticks would appear mysteriously in my house. Serrrrriously. Honey sticks are amazing, don’t ever knock them.

Rosh Hashanah is the time of year where Rabbis ask for money. Usually they do this so that they can continue to pass judgment on their congregants. Kinda how the Jew-game is played — it can be taxing for us, always guilting ourselves. So we outsource the guilting.

But these people? I guess in Port Washington, Jew York, Rosh Hashanah isn’t taken seriously. They can’t drink enough Manischewitz in the world to make this video acceptable. I know, I know, middle-aged Jewish people singing their own version lady gaga in off-key falsetto is supposed to be ironic. And therefore it’s supposed to be funny.

But it isn’t.

In 30 years from now I will point to this video and say to my children: “This is the video that our forefathers filmed. So it was bequothed from Abraham to Issaic, and Issaic to Jacob. This is the video that was built in the house of Yahweh, in the Jewish year 5771. And this is the video that destroyed irony for time and memorial.”

God damnit, someone better sedate me with a honey stick before I get angry.

Well as the French say, this is life. We never really cared for Lady Gaga. Her music certainly WAS ironic, but not the point of being a miserable member of the Church of Gaga. But now, things will change.

Because my 60 year old Jewish mother has decided to like Lady Gaga. And not just ‘Poker Face’. She even likes Alejandro and Telephone. So from this point forward, we are fully behind Gaga. She can get naked in a supermarket, make out with a kitten, or run for mayor of Cincinnati. Regardless, HipsterJew is behind her 110%.

But would she approve her outfits? Gutten-himmel!

- Well, it seems that Jerry Seinfeld continues to remain in the news. He called Lady Gaga ‘a jerk’ for her antics at Yankee Stadium. She wasn’t invited to sit in Seinfeld’s seats but did anyway, and had to try to be outrageous, too.

Not surprising, the only people that care what Jerry has to say are Jews and 50+ years old.

I may sound a little crazy here, but maybe Gaga should try to be outrageous by acting like a normal human being. Or atleast stop putting out typical mediocre pop songs. Alejandro? Telephone? Sounds like shit I listened to in the 6th grade back in the 90s. Get real, Gaga.

This just proved my theory that every song is better when covered by Hassidic Jews with supporting brass at a Jewish wedding. Would it be wrong to ask if they showed a little more skin? And do they need to send royalties to Lady Gaga for this?
