Israeli Izhar Gafni has created a cheap, durable cardboard fixie that will make you the envy of all the other eco-friendly Hipsters on the block. (Unless they are all like ‘Israel isn’t a real place’. Then they will hate you passionately and call you mean, hurful names.)
It only costs $10 to make, and is expected to cost between $60 to $90 to buy one new.
Not sure if this is the bike for you? Just listen to all the hilarious things Izhar has to say about the process!
My first working prototype…it looked like a cross between a packaging box, and a bicycle. A bicycle with wheels, pretty much.
It’s strong…it’s durable…it’s cheap. What I like about it the most: It’s made out of cardboard.
Hahahahaha! Oh, those wacky Israelis. What crazy product will you invent out of garbage next?
