Don’t vote because your favorite indie musicians tell you to

Can you name all these hip, young, possibly influential bands?

There’s nothing I hate more than political pandering to young people. Young people don’t vote. It’s their fault, of course, because they were all instilled with the importance of voting at an early age. Don’t you remember all those civics classes you took? No?

Every 4 years celebrities and musicians try to ‘rock the vote’. Jon Stewart does it, but you wouldn’t expect anything different from him. The worst is when they try to get indie musicians to convince young people to vote. Obviously young people are all very easily persuadable and gullible. Think about all the apathetic Hipsters who weren’t gonna vote, but will because Grizzly Bear, Death Cab, and St Vincent told them to.

I know, nearly all musicians/artists are liberal-minded people, so of course they’d likely want you to vote, and likely vote Democrat. I don’t care. Either stop pandering to young people, give them a solid education so they’re not fucking stupid when they turn 18, or increase the voting age to 30. I don’t give a shit. Just stop trying to get me to vote through vomit-inducing cultural-peer-pressure.

Also, Hipsters don’t vote. So spend your money somewhere else.
