Did you check out the line up for Coachella 2012? Just awful.
How is Jeff Mangum’s one-man band supposed to play to a huge fucking crowd? How could he do this to us? And why didn’t they give him top billing? I don’t care if he wont ‘put as many asses in the seats’ as The Black Keys, Radiohead, Snoop Dog, or Dr. Dre. If he’s gonna play in front of some bros for a huge wad of $$$$, atleast require top billing! Even Noel Gallagher beat you, and he was in fucking Oasis.
I guess it’s time to call it: Indie music has let us down so many times. So many bands have sold out, or sold in, or were involved in some insider-trading on Wall Street. So from this point forward I shall define music not as ‘indie’ and ‘mainstream’.
Nay. I shall now define it as a ‘lamestream’ band or ‘they-aint-makin-money-off-this-shit’ band. You can hold me to it. That being said, they have an OK lineup. Maybe I’ll go. But just to make fun at everyone there and scoff at them under my breath. I swear.
