A list of celebrities, reportedly created by Obama’s campaign, sent out on December 5, and acquired by the Tennessean (PDF HERE), is being passed around the internet. The list, heavily populated with people who we already know support Obama, is supposedly a wishlist of people the Obama administration hopes to get public support from again in this upcoming election.
Among the names on the list: Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Wilco Regina, Spektor, Janelle Monae, The Roots, Jay-Z, will.i.am, Jessica Alba, Laila Ali, Marc Anthony, India.Arie, Sara Bareilles, Chelsea Clinton, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, Fergie, America Ferrera, Jamie Foxx, Whoopi Goldberg, Al Green, Josh Groban, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Jack Johnson, the Jonas Brothers, Jewel, Mila Kunis, Blake Lively, Ricky Martin, “Glee” star Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Pine, B.o.B, the Band Perry, Train, and Kate Walsh. // Brooklynvegan
Don’t forget supposedly the Counting Crows, Andrew Cuomo, Tina Fey, Al Franken, Josh Groban, Tom Hanks, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Michael Jordon, Alicia Keys, Lady Antebellum (obvs votes Herman Cain Republican)…should I go on? Okay.
Also: John Legend, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), George Lopez (sympathy Latino vote?)… Gwen Stefani, Olivia Wilde, Harvey Weinstein and OPRAH WINFREY.
Look I don’t buy for a minute that this list is real. It has to be a joke. Counting Crows? Why not add Nickelback or L.L. Cool J to the list? I just can’t believe Obama would ask Andrew Cuomo, but not Rivers Cuomo to support him. And where the fuck is George Takei? Seriously? Also, why wouldn’t he want to secure American sweetheart Zoey Deschanel? Everyone knows you can’t disagree with a pretty face like hers. Automatic win over leather-faced Romney.
// On the off chance this is a real list, were the hell is Tony the Tiger?
