Oh Portlandia. The show that defines West Coast Hipsters. The show that needs to do a bunch of live shows to prove their ‘Hipster Cred’. To prove that they haven’t lost touch with the average artist/musician/graphic designer. To prove that they haven’t ‘sold out’ to cable television.
In the unlikely event you’re not properly excited for the second season of IFC’s Portlandia, which goes down Jan. 6, let us submit this delicious piece of information. The show’s stars, writers and co-creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are hitting the road for a string of live dates. According to the folks at IFC, the duo will be “performing live music, presenting sneak-peek clips from the show’s second season and sharing personal anecdotes about the creation and inspiration of Portlandia and its variety of eccentric characters.”
The oddball variety show kicks off in Portland (natch) on Dec. 27 and will continue to Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
