The Mating Rituals of Trendy Hipster Scum from Jason Mink on Vimeo.
At first I was going to watch this video. But then I realized it was posted over a year ago, and that if I hadn’t discovered it by now, it probably sucked. And I was correct in my brass assumptions and my unequivocal gumption. Here is my scathing review of this video:
This obvious college-class film school video is not worthy of its description:
Hipsters in love, doesn’t it make you want to vomit? This short film depicts the trials a modern hipster goes through to create “art” that will impress the girl he lusts over. Prepare to see hipster douchebag fashion and asinine philosophy in action.
Meh, I say. The shooting is amateur at best. The shots are visually uninspiring. It sounds as if it was recorded without any filters, effects, or touch up. An airplane over-powering dialogue is a technique I used in 8th grade. I digress.
The wardrobe looks as if it was taken from the set of Not Another Teen Movie. I’m not interested in the ‘I’ll use shitty clothes I own’ as a wardrobe. Do some fucking research. Drop my American Apparel. Take a trip to Williamsburg. It’s like you aren’t even trying to make a parody of Hipsters. You are trying to make a mockery of yourself.
Finally, the acting. Sure, the acting was better than a Michael Bay flick. But holy shit, talk about a student film. Shit is weak. Dialogue? More like let me throw words together taken from HipsterRunoff and call it intriguing.
If I was a film critic, which I am not, I’d give this film a solid F.
Since I’m just a trendy piece of shit, I not only give this film an F, but I order the American government to seize all the people involved with this film. They are traitors to the American Art Industry and should be brought before a judge.
