Ironic Indie Song: The Middle East – Jesus Came To My Birthday Party

Have you heard of The Middle East? No, not the geographic area. The musical indie/folk group from Australia. The one that recently split up, but has put out a fantastic new album. Possibly even worthy of listing with Neutral Milk Hotel and Jeff Mangum?…Possibly.

Anyhow, they had a competition for a music video before they broke up, Jesus Came to My Birthday Party off of their debut (and only) album, I Want That You Are Always Happy. They may or may not return when the indie world is all speechless and gaga over them. Fame and fortune makes a person think twice. Here are the two videos. Which one do you like best?

No matter which video you choose, Hipster Jews will always love ironic songs about Jesus.

RT @RealGilbert: @chickywink Thanks for sharing my video. Dear God, how did you find out I was a Jew? I've been hiding it so well.
