For those of you not accustomed to Yiddish, shul means Temple. It turns out that there is a Hipster synagogue for all the Jew Yorkers out there. So says the New York Post:
A man in a crisp black suit stands outside the plate-glass doors on Crosby Street, checking off the names of the chosen on a clipboard. Young women with tousled hair and fashionable heels slip inside, followed by men in sharp suits or dark jeans. This is SoHo’s latest hot spot, but you don’t have to be a Hollywood actress or star athlete to get in. You just have to be Jewish.

The synagogue was designed to look sleek, sexy, and simple. Very trendy look.
The Rabbi, although religious, still manages to look hip — unpretentiously, too. To the point where you have to wonder if this, like Hillel and Chabad, is just another gimmick to trick young Jews to return to Judaism. Or does the Rabbi also listen to Harlem, Panda Bear, and Shabazz Palaces?
Either way, I guess it all comes down to 1 thing and 1 thing only: Jew York Biddies. Too bad they aren’t Jewess hipster ladies…
