I’m just going to throw this out here. Videos on the youtubes about hipsters are usually not that funny. I get it, really I do. Hipsters don’t shower, they listen to music that is not very common, they know a lot about cassette tapes. But seriously, parodying these quirks in all these ridiculous videos is getting a little old.
At the same time, the comments people post on these videos are hilarious. So full of hate and malice towards other. They just make being a troll seem like bucketloads of fun.
One of my favs is “the real irony is that they’re not comfortable in their own skin, and hence need to adopt the hipster identity to fit in”, a really on-point quote from good ol’ Hockyluv21. Tankayou Hockyluv21, I really had no idea that the reason I was a hipster was because I was mocked endlessly in highschool for not really fitting in. It’s not like hipsters aren’t self-aware of the fact that we are the same alternative cultural standpoint as hippies and goths. That’s what makes us hipsters. We are just too ironic to care.
Then there’s the wise trentn 13 who articulately pronounced, “I’m from Athens, Georgia…fucking hipsters. Well said trentn 13. Well said.
Anyhoo, the video I am about to share with you is actually one of the funnier hipster comedies I have seen. Maybe it’s because they actually put some work into it. The camerawork with the steadicam is dope on a rope, the voiceover narration makes me titter, and the acting is also well-done. It’s not just some really annoying girl standing in front of her webcam and mocking a lifestyle choice in a snarky and irritating way.
But don’t pay attention to the video as much. Focus on the comments. That’s the real entertainment.
If I was in the Hipster Olympics I would care so much less then everyone else.
Deuces.
