The Saxophone Saint from Turnstyle Video on Vimeo.
Services at Synagogue blow. I don’t care if you go to a Reconstructionist synagogue. Prayers are boring. God doesn’t love you. Adding some guitar or fancy-boy choir isn’t going to keep me entertained. I need action. I need pizzaz. I need a Saintly John Coltrane-inspired religious service. I need this African Orthodox Church in San Fransisco that honors the great man’s memory and Sainthood.
Because all I’m saying is that if anyone deserves to be a Saint more than Mother Theresa (read between the lines), then it is John Coltrane. Hands down. Because John Coltrane was not only selfless, hard working, and an American, he also played a mean sax.
