[Note: If you know of any other bands, feel free to email them to music [at] hipsterjew [dot] com. We currently have only 14 Jewish musicians/bands attending that we know of. We know you hipster Jew musicians are out there.]
I’m not a particularly big fan of hard rock. That is until I learned about this duo from Tel Aviv, Carusella. And then I learned that they were injured in Europe. And that they will no longer be able to attend SXSW, and we wish them well. But since they were invited, we will still to talk about them. It’s easier to ignore ‘facts’.
Carusella played SXSW last year. They’ve got the indie cred. And the more I listen to Carusella the more I want to find a grungy house party to mosh at. I’d love to see them open/go on tour for the likes of Death from Above 1979 or the Foo Fighters.
I do enjoy this video below. But if you really want to get to know their music, click the link to their myspace in the preceding paragraph. Their musical range, and the volume that these two people produce, is astounding.
Everytime I learn about an Israeli band with a cute Israeli lead singer, I want to move there just a little bit more. Birthright, you have a lot to learn.
Tell me what you think of the video. Let me get on another whiskey binge and I’d love to see them live. Especially since it seems they put on one helluva live show. Destructive rock holds a special place in my otherwise cold, unloving heart.
