Being a music asshole has it perks. One of them is getting a copy of Dr. Dog’s new album Shame, Shame. If you have never heard Dr. Dog before, this is a perfect album to check out. Then again, if you’re a fan of Dr. Dog, you might come out a little disappointed. It took these Philly psyche rockers two years to come out with a new LP and their sound hasn’t changed at all. You could tell me these were tracks they threw out from We All Belong and Fate, and I would believe it. I’m not saying the album is bad, it’s just the same old.

This LP could be a blessing for those who have a boner for Dr. Dog, as they steadily continue to produce new music. Their sound is unchanged since Toothbrush (and possibly Easy Beat, my favorite albums of theirs) Shame, Shame will be released on April 5th. You know you’re going to pick it up on vinyl.
People like numbers and ratings and shit. So I guess I’ll appease you. I give this 3.75 Pall Mall cigarettes out of 6. It’s nothing revolutionary. It’s nothing new. But you know, it’s a Dr. Dog album.
