SXSW 2010 is March 17th, only days away from a multitude of indie musicians from around the world. Doing the best I can I scoured the 3-mile list of musicians to find as many Jewish/Israeli groups as possible. So if you know of any others, please tell me and I’ll be happy to add them to the list.
- JDubs Records (The Heebster’s record label) is bringing two artist to SXSW, as Israelis Balkan Beat Box are tagging along with Isreali DJs Soulico.
- Some other Israelis include pop artist from Tel Aviv Onili.

- Another is Orphaned Land, a Jerusalem metal band that manages to cross cultural divides to build a strong Jewish and Arab following (as you can see in their picture).
- There is a local Austin, TX, folk musician named David Israel. I’m making a leap of faith here assuming that he is Jewish.
- Lastly there is New Jersey’s one and only Kosha Dillz. The ‘about’ section of his website explains it all: I am artist that loves JEWIsh Israel zionistic hip hop esque cool hipster-atious bodacious moving beats and festivals and shows at cruddy bars with soon to be super stars….like me!
So there you have it! As we say at the end of our Passover Seders, next year may we all attend SXSW!
